(Scream, whistles) Say what?

Can’t stop now

Just getting started

Everybody clap your hands

Come on

Everybody let’s dance…

How much fun can you have in North Dakota in November?!?! Way too much when you are shooting a totally tubular family like this! I’ll give you a little background…this is my friend, Christi, and her super awesome kids (no I really do mean super awesome…so charming and personable. This is how kids should act today…maybe you should do a book or something Christi because you DEFINITELY did something right)! So here’s how it all started. Christi and I go way back (okay, maybe not thaaaat far…come on peeps forward a little-give a girl a break) from High School…yeah, you guessed it THE 80’S BAYYYYYYBEEEEEEE! Okay, maybe I get a little too excited when it comes to parachute pants and Pac Man but they make me happy. Happy like Christi, Austin and Hope made me feel!!! And yes, there is a little part (ok, maybe BIG part) in me that just thinks that the world would be a better place with a little more neon and that people are a little kinder and gentler with one glove (whether it be lace or sparkling)…
TUBULAR –  From 1986….Surfer way to say cool. Relates to the tube a wave forms when cresting.

NEON  -  /’nee-on/ is the chemical element that has the symbol Ne and an atomic number of 10. Although a very common element in the universe, it is rare on Earth. A colorless,  inert nobel gas under standard conditions, neon gives a distinct reddish-orange glow. 80′s often involved bright and vibrant neon clothes as in me and my friends are throwing a rave and we need neon clothes.

Oh, what a feeling

(Oh, oh, oh, oh)

When we’re dancing on the ceiling…

I totally love when I am around people who are AWWwwwwwsooooooome. See how I revert back?!?!

TOTALLY – [toht-l-ee] - another way to stress what one is saying.  ”That is totally tubular”.  -or- “School is totally uncool”. AWESOME – \Awe”some\ – , a. 1. Causing awe; appalling; awful; as, an awesome sight.  In the 80′s, if something was cool, it was awesome.  See also bad.

What is happening here

Something’s going on that’s not quite clear

Somebody turn on the lights

We’re gonna have a party

It’s starting tonight…

JUST like the 80′s…Christi, Austin and Hope epidimize the words fun, unique and TOTALLY FREAK’N AWESOME!!! Thank you guys for bringing a ray of sunshine not only to N.D. in the winter but into my life…You three ROCK!!!

We gonna dance all night

Till the broad daylight

Keep on movin’, keep on groovin’

Oh yeah

Oh, what a feeling

When we’re dancing on the ceiling

Oh, what a feeling

When we’re dancing on the ceiling

Baby, baby…

***A shout out to my amazing dad for helping me hang the Poms from leafless trees without questioning…you da bomb! Muah…xoxo
BOMB – Adj.  Something favorable.  See also awesome.
PARACHUTE PANTS – are a style of trousers characterized by the use of  nylon. In the original extraneously zippered style of the late early 80s, “parachute” referred to the pants’ synthetic nylon material. Parachute pants became a fad as part of an increased cultural appropriation of  breakdancing

PAC MAN – (パックマン Pakkuman) is an arcade game developed by Namco and licensed for distribution in the United States by Midway, first released in Japan on May 22, 1980. Immensely popular from its original release to the present day, Pac-Man is considered one of the classics of the medium, virtually synonymous with video games, and an icon of 1980s popular culture.
ONE GLOVE – (from Old English glof) is a garment covering the whole hand. Gloves have separate sheaths or openings for each finger and the thumb; if there is an opening but no covering sheath for each finger they are called “fingerless gloves”. See ex – Madonna & Michael Jackson
